WHAT IS "BREAKING"?
Breaking "Breakdance" also known as B-boying/B-girling, began in the Bronx in the 1970s and includes foundational movements such as toprock, footwork, freezes and power moves. In our Kids Breaking classes, dancers learn the history and culture behind the dance while building confidence, creativity, musicality, strength and their own personal style.
ABOUT OUR AFRO CLASSES
Kids will learn through Afro House, Amapiano, and Afro Ndombolo, developing their rhythm, coordination, musicality, and confidence through movement. With a focus on learning, creativity, and having fun, this class is a great way for kids to discover new styles while connecting with the culture and music behind them.
WHAT IS "hip hop"?
Hip Hop began in the Bronx in the 1970s, growing from Black and Latino communities through Breaking, DJing, MCing and Graffiti, with creativity, self-expression, community and respect at its core. In our Kids Hip Hop classes, dancers learn foundations, grooves, rhythm, freestyle and musicality while discovering the music, history and culture behind the movement.

WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT FROM US?

We’re a small but dedicated team at Moov. Our focus is clear communication and creating a safe(r), supportive space for kids to learn the fundamentals of Hip Hop & Breaking in a culturally informed and active way.

Classes are kept small (maximum 15 kids) so instructors can give each child proper attention within our capacity. We aim to make every class enjoyable, structured, and welcoming.

If we have less than 5 kids, we will cancel the program 3-7 days prior to the first class.

Kids will learn tangible and creative take-home dance moves they can show friends and family, and they’ll have a healthy space to move, be active, and release energy in a positive way.

We also understand that questions or concerns may come up. When they do, we keep communication open and work with you to ensure your child - and you - have the best experience possible.
