Class Description

Join Didi, our resident Waacking / Whacking teacher, for her one-time beg/inter level class. Some Waacking experience highly suggested. Didi / Alea, has been Waacking for over 15 years. As one of Ottawa's few Waacking teachers, this class welcomes dancers with some prior Waacking experience. If you have no experience, please take the Beginner level first (7-8PM) and also this one after! Waacking / Whacking is a queer dance born from the 1970's Black and Brown gay communities in Los Angeles. It celebrates identity, diversity, but also gives spaces for all expressions. Think dramatics, dynamic arm movements, posing and character! -This is a freestyle focused class and choreography is not guarenteed Music used: -R&B, disco, funk, house If your child is under 18 and would like to participate, please email us first to see if this is the right class for them.
