• 1st place $100 / 2nd place $50
Adults

CHECK-IN TIME PER CATEGORY (MANDATORY)
First-timers / new dancers: Arrive between 5PM to 5:45PM (warm-up + check-in)
All levels / all ages: Check-in between 5PM to 6:15PM
If you are not checked in, you will not be added to the bracket. No refunds.
DANCER SIGN-UP (MANDATORY)
ONLINE (sliding scale): $0 / $10 / $15 / $20. No one will be turned away for lack of funds - however, this option is only available ahead of time.
DAY-OF (if space allows): $20 cash or $20 + fees (card)
No refunds. No credits.

-Open to the public / free to spectate
-You DO NOT need a ticket to spectate - just show up!
-Donations are encouraged on-site (not mandatory) - non refundable.

SAFETY NOTES

In collaboration with the ByWard Market District Authority (BMDA), they will provide:
• On-site security presence
• Dedicated Safety & Security Manager
• District Ambassadors supporting de-escalation
If you experience or witness an unsafe situation, inform Moov or BMDA staff immediately. We acknowledge the challenges of the downtown core and are taking active steps to support a safer and positive community environment. While not all situations can be predicted, our team is on-site and prepared to respond appropriately in collaboration with our partners. In those situations, we will respond within our capacity, and escalate if needed, including contacting emergency services (911).
ACCESSIBILITY
-Programming offered in English, French, and Spanish
-Wheelchair and stroller accessible space - We encourage you to arrive early to secure a spot -Limited chairs and tables available (primarily a standing / floor-seating event)
-Washrooms are available inside the ByWard Market (https://www.byward-market.com/) & elevator access
-Nursing rooms for parents available at CF Rideau
-Paid parking available throughout the downtown core
-Bus and train accessible - stop at CF Rideau and walk to the ByWard Market
-We welcome those from all cultural backgrounds, abilities and identities to attend, participate and spectate.
NOTES FOR PARENTS/GUARDIANS
We welcome children and families to our event, however to keep our spaces as safe as possible, please note the following:
-Young children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times, especially during the dance battles.
-Parents/guardians are fully responsible for their children’s supervision and safety. Moov and BMDA is not responsible children that are unattended.
-For safety reasons, children must remain off the dance floor unless they are in the battle, as there is a high risk of injury.
CULTURAL NOTES
This is a Street Dance battle space.
While open to the public, please note:
• Music may not be censored and will be loud (bring earplugs if you wish).
• Battle energy and gestures are part of the culture and may not sit well with everyone. Attend with awareness and respect for the space.
PHOTO, VIDEO & MEDIA
-This is a free/donation based public outdoor event. Photo and video content will be captured by Moov and BMDA for promotional and archival purposes.
-By attending as a spectator or dancer, you acknowledge that you may appear in this content. Guests are also welcome to take photos and videos.
-All media capture must remain respectful. Any filming or photography of adults or minors that is deemed inappropriate or unsafe will be addressed and may be stopped in accordance with Moov’s policies.

WEATHER PLAN
Rain = Event moves indoors (location TBA, updates via email + Instagram stories)
If the event is fully cancelled due to circumstances beyond our control, dancers will be notified and refunded within 7–10 business days.

New parents/guardians - a waiver must be signed on arrival. If one has been signed in the past year, a new one does not need to be signed. Please note that we DO NOT have a kids category this month but kids are welcomed to sign up. The kids category will be replaced by a "First Timers/New Dancers" category

An adult must accompany the child at the event. If payment is an issue, please contact us prior to the battle.
