About the event
Hey Ma! is coming to Toronto! ✨
If you’ve been part of the dance community long enough, you’ve probably seen it - a dancer becomes a mother and suddenly you see less of them at events, battles, rehearsals or in the spaces they used to be part of.
Hey M! was created with that in mind. 💐
Created by Alea de Castro, produced with Moov Ottawa Dance & inspired by her own experience as a mother and street dancer, HEY MA! celebrates the trials and triumphs of the mothers who have shaped, continue to shape & who contributed to our street dance and greater dance community.

Child minding / childcare info:
Available on Sunday Nov. 8th, 2026 from 2–6 PM, supported by Balancing Act and provided by Summerhill Club.
Child minding must be reserved in advance through your RSVP so we can ensure appropriate staff-to-child ratios. A minimum of two child-minding staff will be onsite.
The venue will have two spaces:
Main Dance Room: This is where the party, battle, and DJ will take place. Expect music, a darker atmosphere, and an active event environment. Children are welcome to enter this space with their parent/guardian’s supervision.
Café / Child-Minding Room: Located beside the café area, this space will be available for children to stay with our child-minding staff. Please note that this room is open to all event attendees and is not exclusively for children.
Parents/guardians can decide whether their child stays with the child-minding staff or joins them in the main event space.
Important: Parents/guardians must remain inside the venue/building while using the child-minding service and cannot leave their child onsite unattended.
